Greg Shaddix | Photographer
Greg Shaddix is a North Georgia–based photographer whose work is driven by authenticity, emotion, and storytelling. Through Exposing Southern Shadows Photography, he creates compelling imagery that spans live music, portraiture, fashion, lifestyle, branding, family photography, and creative collaborations. Whether documenting the raw energy of a concert, capturing the confidence of a model, or preserving the connection between loved ones, Greg's goal remains the same: to create photographs that make people feel something real.
With a camera in hand and an instinct for storytelling, Greg approaches photography much the same way a songwriter approaches a lyric. Every frame is meant to reveal something honest. His work favors atmosphere over spectacle, authenticity over perfection, and emotion over technical flash. Through thoughtful composition, dramatic light, and carefully observed moments, his images go beyond documenting a subject. They tell a story.
Although widely recognized for his music photography, Greg has built a reputation for creating striking portraits and lifestyle imagery that feel cinematic, natural, and deeply personal. He regularly collaborates with musicians, models, entrepreneurs, families, and brands to produce photographs that reflect personality, confidence, and genuine human connection. Whether in the studio, on location, or outdoors using the natural beauty of North Georgia as a backdrop, his sessions are relaxed, collaborative, and tailored to each client.
Greg's photography remains deeply rooted in the Southern music community that surrounds him. From intimate songwriter rounds to sold out concert halls, he has documented performances by artists such as Larry Fleet, Ryan Bingham, Ruston Kelly, Hayes Carll, Watchhouse, Ace Frehley, Fozzy, Quiet Riot, and Shawn Mullins. His work has taken him into respected venues including The Tabernacle, Terminal West, Buckhead Theatre, The Eastern, Variety Playhouse, Ameris Bank Amphitheatre, and MadLife Stage & Studios, where he regularly photographs both nationally touring acts and the emerging artists shaping the future of American music.
Beyond the stage, Greg works closely with musicians and creatives on promotional photography, album artwork, press imagery, and branding sessions designed to help artists define their visual identity. He brings that same storytelling approach to fashion inspired model shoots, senior portraits, engagement sessions, family photography, corporate headshots, and personal branding, creating timeless images that feel authentic rather than manufactured.
At the heart of Greg's work is a belief that photography is more than capturing what something looked like. It is about preserving what it felt like. Every photograph is an opportunity to tell a story, celebrate individuality, and create something meaningful that will endure long after the moment has passed.
When he's not photographing concerts or working with clients, Greg continues exploring the landscapes, small towns, backroads, and quiet moments that define the South. These personal projects continue to shape his artistic vision and reinforce the philosophy behind Exposing Southern Shadows by finding beauty, character, and truth in the places and people often overlooked.
Whether photographing a sold out concert, a model building a portfolio, a family celebrating a milestone, or a business crafting its brand, Greg approaches every session with the same commitment. He creates honest, timeless images that tell unforgettable stories.
